On stage, together
Three concerts every year
Every student plays in three concerts across the school year. They are relaxed, friendly afternoons rather than auditions — nobody is judged, and every level plays, from a first five-note tune to a full piece.
Between the performances we run group games and musical activities, and parents join in too. It is the part families remember: playing for an audience is where all that practice at home suddenly makes sense, and where most of our students surprise themselves.

How much do lessons cost?
Prices depend on the type of lesson and its length. As a guide: group lessons around €75–€100 per month, individual lessons about €80–€200, parent & child lessons about €120–€240, and private lessons at home in Hilversum about €170–€300. For adults (21+), €5 per week is added to individual rates to include VAT. See each course page for exact rates.
Is the trial lesson really free?
Yes — you begin with a free 30-minute trial lesson, as part of a no-obligation first trial month. During that first month you can decide whether to continue, with nothing to commit to. After the trial month, our standard termination terms apply.
How can I pay, and what are the payment terms?
Lessons are billed in equal monthly instalments — you choose 10 or 12 across the year. Alternatively, you can pay for the full year in advance and save 5%. Invoices are sent at the start of each month with a 14-day term, and you can pay by Wero, bank transfer or cash.
What are the termination terms?
Enrolment renews per school year. You can cancel at any time in writing or by e-mail, with one calendar month’s notice starting on the first day of the following month. Full details are in our Terms & Conditions.
Are there any discounts or subsidies?
Yes! Pay for the full year in advance and save 5%. Families in Amsterdam may qualify for support from Jeugdfonds Sport & Cultuur. And with our referral offer: introduce a new student who stays at least 3 months, and you both receive one free lesson.
Do I need a piano at home to practise?
Yes. To make real progress you’ll need a piano or a good weighted digital keyboard to practise on at home. We’re happy to advise on suitable options — regular practice between lessons is what makes the difference.
Should parents attend the lessons?
For young children, we warmly recommend a parent sits in, at least at the start — it helps with practice at home and keeps children motivated. Older students and adults usually prefer to learn independently. To learn together, see our parent & child lessons.
What is your teaching method?
Our approach is fun and serious: structured, high-quality courses that build real technique and musicianship, taught through games, activities and music you love. We take progress seriously while keeping every lesson joyful — because that’s what keeps students playing for life.
Why are group lessons a great way to start?
Group lessons are a fun, affordable and motivating way to begin. Students learn alongside others, guided by the same conservatory-trained teachers and structured curriculum as our private lessons, with small group sizes so everyone gets attention. It’s a high-quality, low-pressure first step into music — and a great foundation before moving on.
Which languages can I take lessons in?
Lessons are available in Dutch, English and Spanish. Martín Chaves teaches in Dutch, English and Spanish; Iago Hermo teaches in English and Spanish. Tell us your preference when you book your free trial lesson and we will match you with the right teacher.
